KEN BROWN                                                

Ken grew up in New Bern, NC. His wife Sylvia accepted Christ as a child and Ken followed her to church and to Christ at the age of seventeen.

• Ken attended North Carolina State Univerisity and Sylvia attended East Carolina University.  After two years of this separation they got married.  Ken continued his degree work while sylvia went to work on a PHT degree (Puttin Hubby Thru).
• After graduation they moved to Texas where Ken went to work in the aircraft industry.
• Ken & Sylvia have three grown children and one grandchild, all residing in the Atlanta area.
• Ken is retired from Lockheed, he still does consulting work.
• Ken teaches an adult couples Bible study class and is active with Builders for Christ in building churches.

BEN COOK

• Retired - NationsBank of Georgia, NA and its predecessor (The Citizens and Southern National Bank).  Retired as Vice President and Branch Manager of the Austell Branch in 1996.
• U.S. Navy - Graduated from Officer Candidate School and commissioned an Ensign in January of 1963.  Served onboard the U.S.S. Essex, CVS-9 for the next three years.  Duties included one year in the Communications Department and two years as the ship's Legal Officer and standing Officer of the Deck watches/duties both in port and at sea.
• U.S. Naval Reserve- February, 1963 - August, 1989.  Current Navy rank is Captain, U.S. Naval Reserve, retired.
• Military awards:  Armed Forces Reserve Metal for honorable service in the reserves.  National Defense Medal for participation in the military presence during the Berlin crisis in 1961.  Navy Expeditionary Medal for military operations in the Cuban area during the Cuban blockade in October of 1962.  Meritorious Unit Citation Medal for the members of Tactical Support Center 574 for support of Regular Navy Units, while serving as Commanding Officer during the time recognized.
• Member of Fortified Hills Baptist Church and member of its Planning and Growth Council.  Past deacon and Sunday school teacher.
• Past chairman of the Marietta Merchants' Association.
• Past chairman of the Cobb County Advisory Board of the Salvation Army.
• Past member of the President's Club of the Cobb County Chamber of Commerce.
• Past President and current member of the Austell-South Cobb Rotary Club.
• Volunteer with Builders for Christ, an organizaiton under the Baptist International Mission Board, and have made two two-week trips to Managua, Nicaragua with a team to build a church and a church facility.
• Graduated Georgia State University - Bachelor of Business Administration degree, major in Economics.
